What does a customer service representative do at Trailstone?

  • 1st and always… we treat others the way we would want to be treated. Google us and read the reviews, our customers love working with us. We have over 1,700 reviews and have a 5 star rating.
  • Help our clients with changes to their insurance policies, such as adding a vehicle, changing home coverage, adding a driver to a policy, etc.
  • Assist with answering questions about policy coverages.
  • Assist Account Managers with any tasks they may need help with.
  • Advising the client when their insurance renews.
  • Be a friend to our clients when they need us.
  • Serve our clients and enjoy helping solve their issues.

This is an hourly position.  Training and studying for your licenses is paid and you will earn $18/hr until you are licensed. Once Licenced your pay increases to $20/hr.  Typical licensensing time is 3-4 weeks. We expect you to get licensed in no more than 45 days. Pay will increase to $22/hr after your first year.

The ideal candidate would have 2+ years of Personal Lines insurance experience in account management and customer service and be self-motivated, independent and enjoy providing quality customer service. We will provide training and instruction as needed, but will not be micromanaging your work and there is the possibility of working a hybrid shift for the right individual. Property and casualty insurance license.

  • Working knowledge of computer software – Microsoft Office products, DropBox, Customer Management Software.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening.
  • Be self-motivated – we are looking for a self starter.
  • Have the heart of a teacher – every interaction with your clients is an educational opportunity.
  • Willingness to be coached and follow a proven process.

If you enjoy a fast pace environment and embrace serving others with a heart of a teacher, this is the position for you. However, this is not 100% remote. Our account managers are either in office or have a hybrid schedule. This team is the backbone of our agency and are the best of the best.

Do you have an entrepreneurial mindset and the desire to increase your income significantly while not enduring the full risk of the 1099 Independent Contractor position? Our account managers earn a base pay + commissions on the books they manage. A typical account manager starts around $57k per year and we have account managers currently earning $90k for the year. How much you earn is up to you and your capabilities and efficiency. Come on board, learn how we work, then grow!

We are always searching for ambitious, driven insurance sales agents that are already licensed, or are willing to get licensed, to join our growing team at Trailstone Insurance. This is an entrepreneurial role, a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Responsible for prospecting and selling property and casualty products to prospective clients.

You will be responsible for enriching lives in the people we serve by educating clients and prospects about their coverage and price options, as well as building and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and retention.
This is an opportunity for you to build a rewarding, financially successful business in the insurance industry. You are partnering with Trailstone to build your own business.

As an independent contractor, this role is 100% commission based.
We pay our independent contractors 75% commissions on new business and 50% on renewals.

No other insurance agency pays that high of commissions. With commission-only pay, earning potentials are limitless, you set your goals and it’s up to you to achieve them. However, if you do not sell anything, you don’t earn anything. So this is not the ideal position for someone is not ready for this challenge. This is also not a role for someone just looking for a remote position. This is a commitment to a career, not an opportunity to “work from home”. Yes you can work anywhere you like that is an added benefit, but should not be the driving factor for you.
In this role you are a business owner, not an employee. The only one holding you back from financial freedom is yourself.

Are you eager and ready to take on this challenge?
Most independent contractor agents that work with us earn about $50,000 in commissions their first year. Then, with renewal income, most typically increase to about $80k in year two. Then by year three with two years of renewals, increase to $125k. From there it really depends on the person. Some people are happy at that level, others are still growing their book of business and increasing their income.

Work from home but feels like family!

I can honestly say I’ve never worked anywhere that had as much support, encouragement, and training as what Trailstone offers. I came to Trailstone knowing zilch about insurance except my own bad experiences. But I did have a desire to change the way people saw insurance industry and Trailstone is changing the way insurance is done. From the treatment of its employees, to the way we serve our clients, to the mindset of having the heart of a teacher, everything about Trailstone is about improving the customer experience through knowledge and education. Although most of us work in different cities and states, and very few go to the actual office, it somehow still feels like family! Hardest part is the learning curve at the beginning, but if you can stick it out, it is well worth your time investment! Trailstone has everything you need and more, to be successful, you just have to utilize it. Almost a year in, and I can’t see myself going anywhere else!

Management has an open door policy and has provided a level of support that I have never experienced in any past career or job. Trailstone sets you up for success, but it is up to you to put in the work to be successful. I joined Trailstone with no insurance experience. Management and ownership have not only created amazing systems to help train new hires, they are there to walk you through the process step by step until you’ve mastered it. Everyone – from the top down – is patient and extremely helpful, and the overall company culture is truly the best I’ve ever been a part of.
The tools and automation that have been painstakingly perfected over the years are invaluable, and make the job so much easier. Still, you must put in the effort to learn and to master the process. If you’re willing to do that, the sky is the limit.
Once you’re established, the work-life balance is unparalleled. This job has enabled me to do things I never thought I’d be able to do and go on adventures that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to go on – all while still supporting my family and being fully present in their lives.
