About Brian Mitchum
Indiana, Florida, back to Indiana, out to Colorado where I eventually attended University of Colorado receiving a bachelors in Marketing as well as a Certificate of Excellence in Entrepreneurship, then I took off to NYC where I spent 18 months on tours with BMW and later with MTV (when they still played music videos) traveling the country with Nickelback, everybody’s favorite band and on various events/shows, which eventually returned me to Colorado where I met my super fantastic wife Anita who told me on our first date she was moving to Nashville in 3 months…..so then out to Tennessee, which led to St. Louis, MO where we had our daughter, and finally back to beautiful Colorado…..hopefully to stay! While 2020-21 will certainly go down as an interesting year, we were blessed with a baby boy exactly 2 months into the pandemic lockdown. That is the wild adventure that has led me here.
My previous experience has primarily been in insurance and financial service sales and management at some of the largest companies in America. I have learned I can achieve great success when I am working for a company I truly believe in. Having recently worked for a large captive insurance company where agents often didn’t have the best product to offer their clients, I saw firsthand the frustration the agents had when they had to simply push what they had available on clients. I am excited to be part of Trailstone Insurance Group, where our clients and our agents are more than just a number, and we have many different options available to ensure we are always doing the best thing for our clients.
While my family is my favorite thing to enjoy these days and takes up most of my free time, I just love everything about Colorado: the mountains, the weather, the people, the hiking. This picture was from one of my favorite days on a mountain getting to tear up the backcountry in Wolf Creek, Colorado, one of Colorado’s hidden gems. I also enjoy traveling to see unique landscapes or architecture and getting a flavor of local cultures around the world at their local pubs, preferably with live music involved.
One of my passions is teaching kids and helping them find their way in this crazy world. Whether it has been teaching at Sunday school, teaching kids through Junior Achievement or mentoring through Big Brother Big Sister, I have enjoyed making a positive influence on the next generation and look forward to having the opportunity to help the next generation navigate financial literacy in the years to come.
